  from "The Oregonian", 30 Oct 1975 (posted on findagrave.com) Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Caldwell's Colonial Mortuary for R. D. (Don) Sherrod, who died Monday in a Portland hospital. He was 70. Mr. Sherrod, former owner-manager of a food brokerage firm, had spent 18 years as state manager for Schenley Affiliated Brands. He resided at 9130 SW Jamison Road. He was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Church; Portland Lodge No. 55, AF&AM; Scottish Rite; Al Kader Shrine; Beaverton Elks No. 1989; Downtown Lions Club; American Legion Post No. 22 (Hood River); Commercial Club of Portland and Inspirators of Oregon. He is survived by his wife Jean; two step-daughters, Beverly Gail Curtis of Portland and Mary Lydele Gueble of Hilo, Hawaii; two sisters, Evelyn Fletcher of Tekoa, Wash., and Mildred Bissinger of Kentfield, Calif., and one grandson.
