Burial on 25 Feb. from "The Louisville Courier-Journal", 25 Feb 1907 (newspapers.com) Carl Volz, an aged resident of this city, died of blood poisoning at midnight Saturday at his home, 2020 Preston street. Mr. Volz had his foot severely crushed several years ago, and the wound resulting from the accident never healed wholly. Several weeks ago blood-poisoning developed and terminated fatally Saturday. Mr. Volz was seventy-nine years of age, and was a native of Germany. He removed to Louisville early in life, and spent the major part of his life in this city. He retired actively from any business twenty years ago. Mr. Volz is survived by three sons and two daughters. The funeral services will be held at the residence at 3 o'clock this afternoon, with interment in Eastern cemetery.
