Louise Emerson Francke, a former editor of Times Talk, the house organ of The New York Times, died on Oct. 3, 2007, at her home in Sarasota, Fla. She was 80 years old. She died of old age, a friend said. Mrs. Francke became editor of Times Talk in 1988, before which she was an advertising promotion group manager and promotion copywriter with The Times. Mrs. Francke joined The New York Times in 1959 and retired in 1991. After retirement, she spent time traveling in Asia, Africa and Europe. She pursued nature photography as a serious amateur, sold numerous photographs for publication and won awards in local photography competitions. Mrs. Francke was married to Lloyd Francke, director of information services at The Times. Mr. Francke died in 1988.
