BARKER - Bradford L. Sherwood, 70, of 1643 Hosmer Road, retired president of Lockport Motors Inc. of Lockport died Tuesday at Inter-Community Memorial Hospital, following an apparent heart attack. Born Dec. 4, 1900 in Barker, he was a son of George and Ruie Sherwood. He was graduated from Barker High School and took an agriculture course at Cornell University. For several years he worked on the home farm. Mr. Sherwood was in business in Buffalo from 1924 to 1935, when he returned to Lockport to become president of Lockport Motors. He retired in 1957. He also had operated a fruit and hereford cattle farm in the Town of Somerset. Mr. Sherwood was a past master of Somerset Lodge 639, F&AM; a member of Ames Chapter 89, Royal Arch Masons; the Buffalo Consistory; Genesee Commandery 10; Knights Templar; Buffalo Ismailia Temple; past president of Lockport Shrine Club, a member of Niagara-Orleans District Past Masters Association. Marine Midland Bank-Western; also the advisory board of the county 4H program and sponsorship committee. Mr.Sherwood donated numerous awards for 4-H work. A past president of Lockport Auto Dealers Association, he was a former member of Barker Central School Board of Education; a past president and director of New York State Hereford Association; a member of the State Beef Cattlemen's Associatlon, American Cattlemen's Association, and of Faith United Methodist Church, Barker. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mabel Emerson Sherwood; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Southard of Gasport; three grandchildren and a brother, Donald J. Sherwood of Barker. Beginning this evening friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev Allyn C. Foster, pastor of Faith Methodist Church, officiating. Somerset Lodge will hold memorial services at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in West Somerset Cemetery.
