EMERSON - Fred D. Emerson, formerly of Lockport, passed away at Geneva, N.Y., Saturday, December 12, 1959. He leaves his wife Lilly Emerson of Geneva, one son Clarles D. Emerson of Closter, N.J., one daughter C. Louise Emerson of New York City, one granddaughter Lynn Elizabeth Emerson, and two sisters Mrs. Leslie D. Croxson of Lockport, and Mrs. Bradford Sherwood of Barker. Committal services will be held at graveside, Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport, Friday morning, December 18th at 11:30 o'clock. Service Hold In Geneva for Fred Emerson
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Geneva for a Lockport native, Fred D. Emerson, 69, of 15 Lafayette Ave., who died Saturday (Dec. 12, 1959) at Geneva Memorial Hospital. Born April 16, 1890 in Lockport, he was graduated from Lockport public schools. In 1913 he was graduated from Biltmore Forest School in Biltmore, N.C., and subsequently worked for a time as a forester. A civil engineer, he was Batavia's city engineer from 1922 to 1925. He lived in Lockport until 1950, when he moved to Geneva. There he was employed at the Sampson Air Force Base and as Geneva Civil Engineer. He was a member of Red Jacket Lodge 646, F&AM; B. Leo Dolan Post 410, American Legion; the Geneva Methodist Church and Winnek Post of the Geneva American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lilly Emerson; a son, Charles of Closter, N. J.; a daughter, Miss C. Louise Emerson, New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Leslie D. Croxson, Lockport, and Mrs. Bradford Sherwood, Barker, and a grandchild. Commital services will be held at graveside at the family lot in Cold Spring Cemetery Friday morning at 11:30. The Rev. Robert C. Root, pastor of Emmanuel Methodist Church, will officiate.
