Melvin of West Salem township, passed away yesterday at 1 p.m. Mrs. Melvin, a daughter of Jacob and Elmira Mowry was born in Hempfield township, Nov. 2, 1862. She leaves her husband and four children: Mrs. Jennie McLaughlin of West Salem, Lloyd H. Melvin at home, Earle W. Melvin of Wadsworth, O., and Mrs. Mary Fry of Greene township. Also 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Melvin was an active leader in the Sunshine Society and a member of the Baptist Church at Orangeville. Funeral services will be held from her late home on Thursday at 2 p.m., interment at Rock Ridge Cemetery.
