INSANE - Mr. James Baker, aged 78 years, a respectable farmer in the town of Cambria, was taken to the Lunatic Asylum at Utica on Monday last. He was subject to attacks of mental aberration, and has been an inmate of the Asylum before. A rush of blood to the head a short time since, left his mind deranged, but it is thought not permanently, and his friends thought best to take him to the Asylum for medical treatment. He was good humored adn very talkative on his way down. - from "The Lockport Daily Journal", 16 Oct 1867 (fultonhistory.com)
John Fox, well known as the coffee and spice man, has just arrived in town with a car-load of choice apples, from Niagara
county, N.Y. One barrel is filled with 215 which are said to be the largest apples ever put together in one barrel. He will sell today at the western railroad freight depot-Springfield (Mass.) Bepublican.
The apples alluded to in the above item were raised by James Baker, in the town of Cambria, and were shipped by Messrs. Baker & Manger of this city.
