MRS. BAKER
PEKIN - Mrs. Marald E. Baker, 60, of 2885 Upper Mountain Road, died Wednesday (Sept. 30, 1962) in the Howell Nursing Home, Lockport, after a lengthy illness. She was born in the Town of Cambria on June 21, 1904, the daughter of George W. and Nellie Clancy Sornberger. She had resided in this vicinity throughout her life. Her husband, Clarence Baker, died in 1962. Mrs. Baker had been an elementary school teacher for 24 years, being an instructor in various Niagara County schools. Since its organization, she had been a teacher in the Starpoint Central School District and was a past president of the Starpoint Teachers Association. She was a member of Pekin Methodist Church and of the Woman's Society of Christian Service at the church. She had served as church organist for 45 years. In addition to both parents, her survivors include a son, Howard Baker, Pekin; two brothers, Allison Sornberger, Sanborn, and G. Emerson Sornberger. Niagara Falls, and three grandchildren. Friends may call at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, Sanborn, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by Rev. James Pollard, pastor of Pikin Methodist Church. Burial will be at North Ridge Cemetery. The family said memorial donations may be made to Pekin Methodist Church.
