Sherman Woods, a farmer of Chester, who lived eight miles north of Grinnell, was found hanging in his barn Friday of last week. He was unmarried, and his aunt lived with him as housekeeper. Mr. Woods was about 40 years old. No reason is given for the suicide. He was universally respected by the people who knew him, and the act was entirely unaccountable. He was a son of Abner Woods, who formerly lived west of Grinnell. Dr. Harris, coroner, went to Chester and held an inquest.
