McDowell, 70 years old, 762 Ashland avenue, St. Paul, and for 40 years a member of the composing room force of the Pioneer Press and Dispatch, died Sunday in Ancker hospital, St. Paul. He had been in ill health since August 15, His widow and a son, John, survive.
