Mrs. Martha (Adams) Stebbins, 94, of 86 Bowdoin St., widow of Frederick Haile Stebbins, Springfield attorney., died at Springfield Hospital Monday after a long illness. She was born in Springfield Jun 28, 1870, the daughter of the late J. Sumner and Sarah P. (Rumery) Adams, and was a lifelong resident. Previous to her marriage, she was a Latin teacher at Springfield High School. She was a member of Hope Congregational Church, the Springfield Women's Club, the Atalanta Club, College Club and Smith College Club. Mrs. Stebbins leaves a son, Atty. Frederick A., of Longmeadow, and a sister, Mrs. Edwin F. Lyford. The funeral will be held at her home Wednesday at 2. Rev. Charles W. Barnes, pastor of the Hope Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
