Final rites for William Wallace Rice, 68 years old, former resident of Rock Island, who died Thursday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where at 1 o'clock this afternoon and Chippiannock cemetery, Rock Island, where burial took place. Mr. Rice, a former employee of the Rock Island Plow company, had resided in Milwaukee the last seven years at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mildred Rice Ullrich. His death followed a long illness. He was born in Burlington, Iowa, November 9, 1864, a son of Joshua D. and Ann McDowell rice. When still a small boy he accompanied his family to the tri-cities. The greater part of his life was spent in Rock Island and his education was received in the schools here. Surviving besides his daughter, Mrs. Ullrich of Milwaukee, are a grandson, Donald Kipp, also of Milwaukee, and a cousin, Mrs. Jenny Linker of Maquoketa, Iowa.
