Alvin Muller, 73, garageman who became Berkeley's bee expert, died last night at his home, 2023 Bancroft Way, after an illness several months. Muller took up the care of bees as a hobby and became so proficient that he frequently was called in to move swarms or to five advice to amateurs on their care. A native of San Francisco, he had lived in Berkeley since 1905 and was a pioneer tire and garage man. He was past master of the South San Francisco Blue lodge of Masons, a member of Berkeley Commandry of Knights Templar, and of Aahmes Temple of the Shrine of Oakland. The Blue Lodge will conduct the funeral services at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Berg chapel, 1936 University Avenue. Cremation will follow. He is survived by his widow, Maye C. Muller, and a son, Vernon C. Muller, both of Berkeley.
