  from "The Oshkosh Daily Northwestern", 26 Apr 1921 (posted on findagrave.com) Mrs. Leah Perkins a resident of this city for over fifty years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Hayes, 217 West New York avenue last night at 6 o'clock following a long illness. She was 78 years of age having been born in England, Feb. 18, 1843*. She came with her parents to America when she was a girl and settled in this city. When she was 19 years of age she was married to George Perkins. Mr. Perkins passed away in 1893 and since that time, Mrs. Perkins had spent the greater part of her life with her daughter. Mrs. Perkins is survived by four sons, Fred of Minneapolis, George and Edwin of Oshkosh and Charles of Hartford, Wis. The funeral will be held in private Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock from home of her daughter. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
