  from "The Petaluma Argus-Courier", 19 Nov 1906 (newspapers.com) Rev. M. Perkins, father of Miss Helen M. Perkins of the Petaluma High School, passed away at Burke's Sanitarium after a lingering illness. Rev. Perkins for many years preached at the Congregational churches on the Pacific Coast. The remains were shipped to Oakland, where the funeral was held. Miss Perkins went down to attend the funeral and will return Monday evening to resume her duties at the High School. Deceased leaves two daughter and one son to mourn his loss. from "The family of John Perkins of Ipswich, Massachusetts" Francis Brown (Benjamin, David, Francis, Jacob, Isaac, John, John) was born in Boston, Mass., Aug. 7, 1833. He married, first, Susan Mansfield Huntington, Jan. 4, 1860. She was born in New York City, June 22, 1835. She was the oldest daughter of of Edward B. and Sarah A. Huntington. She died at Sonoma, Cal., May 16, 1879. He married, second, Sept. 27, 1881, Laura f. Strong. He graduated from Williams College in 1854, and from Andover Theological Seminary in 1858, and was ordained Feb. 15, 1860, at Montague, Mass. He was the Chaplain of the 10th Regiment Mass. Vols., in the war of the rebellion, 1863-4. He was settled as pastor of Central Church, at Jamaica Plain, Boston, Sept. 21, 1864, to 1870, and is now, 1884, the pastor of the Congregational Church in Stockbridge, Mass.
