James (James, Francis, Jacob, Isaac, John John) was born in Salem, Mass., Dec. 18, 1806. He married Mary Fiske, July 10, 1831. She was the daughter of Ezra and Polly (Lakeman) Fiske, and was born Oct. 2, 1806. He was a blacksmith, which trade he learned of his father, and was for several years a shipsmith in Salem. He then removed to Bangor, Me., and afterwards to Boston and pursued the same business, but retired several years ago. He was an alderman in Boston, and was also an Inspector of the Massachusetts State Prison. - from "Massachusetts, Death Records, 1841-1915" (ancestry.com)
