      Ex-Regional Forester C.N. Woods Succumbs
      C.N. Woods, 88, 2751 Harrison, retired chief forester of the Region Four, died today of natural causes at the Dee Hospital. Mr. Woods was prominent in civic affairs in Ogden for may years. He was born Nov. 17, 1875, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Isaac N. and Augusta Miller Woods. Mr. Woods was married to Bertha Blaisdell March 5, 1913, in Hailey, Idaho. She died Sept. 17, 1934 in Ogden. He married Geneve S. Reeve in Ogden Sept. 23, 1935. Mr. Woods received forestry and law degrees and was a Spanish American War veteran. He joined the U.S. Forest Service in 1902 as a ranger in the general land office, Department of the Interior. In 1905 he was assigned to the Teton National Forest in Wyoming and, in 1908, was transferred to the Sawtooth National Forest, Idaho, as a supervisor. Mr. Woods joined the Ogden regional office in 1914. He became assistant regional forester in 1930 and was appointed regional forester in 1939. He retired Dec. 31, 1943. He was a director of the Ogden Chamber of Commerce, a member of Rotary Club and president of the Lake Bonneville Scout Council. Mr. Woods was a recipient of the council's Silver Beaver award for his contributions to scouting. Surviving are his widow of Ogden, two stepsons, John O. Reeve, Odgen; Lt. Col. William S. Reeve, stationed with the Air Force in Germany; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara Butler, Centerville and 11 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Aultorest Mortuary.
