Mrs. Nellie R. Bronson passed away at the age of 86 years in the Tuttle Nursing Home, Hudson, where she had been a patient tow weeks, Thursday, March 8, 1962. Nellie was born August 15, 1875, to Charles Y. and Orcelia Rice Lowe two miles south of Hudson in a house located on the property known for years as "Lowes Mill." The grist mill having been built by her grandfather and his brother, when Hudson was jsut a village. She was the youngest of four children, all of whom with the parents preceded her in death. Guerney C. Lowe in 1933, Mrs. Maude S. Brown in 1934 and Mrs. Minnie Corser in 1937. On Thanksgiving Day in 1897, she was married to Robert E. Bronson, also of near Hudson. Following the wedding they made their home in Van Wert, Ohio, until 1915. At that time Robert was employed with the Home Guards, a Fraternal Insurance Company that merged with another company to form the American Insurance Union of America, with the main office in Columbus, Ohio. With others of the Home Guards office staff, Robert was transferred to Columbus, where they remained until his death in January of 1940. Following his death, she returned to Judson wher she made her home with a nephew, Clarence L. Brown for three years. In Jan. of 1941 she moved to her present home at 205 Seward and remained there until three weeks prior to her death. During her life she was an active member of the Van Wert lodge of Pythian sisters and a past chief of that lodge. On her return to Hudson, she continued her interest in the Pythian Order with Vista Temple Lodge No. 24. She also was an active member of Lenawee Chapter No. 174 OES, the Golden Shrine, the Hudson Women's Club and the First Congregational church. In addition to her nephew Clarence Brown, she was curvived by a neice, Mrs. Ione Greenbaun of Birmingham, Mich. and a nephew George C. Lowe of Indianapolis.
