      Yesterday afternoon, after a lingering illness, Mr. Richard E. Tankersley died at his home in the Fourth ward. Mr. Tankersley has been a resident of Houston for twenty years, and at the time of his death was a trusted employee in the land department of the Southern Pacific company. He leaves a wife and two children, with a large number of relatives and friends to mourn his death. The funeral will take place this afternoon from the residence of Mrs. M. Bagby, No. 1010 Smith street.
