Mrs. Nancy A. Woods, one of Fredonia's oldest, most respected and revered women, died on Saturday, November 14, 1914 after an illness of only three days from pneunomia aged 85 yearts. She was the daughter fo Andrew and Rebecca White and was born in Mercer county on October 28, 1829 and had lived in Mercer county her whole life. She was married about 65 years ago to William Woods, who died about 15 years ago. Their married life was spent on a farm in Delaware township, they have moved to Fredonia only a short time previous to Mr. Wood's death. Their union was blessed with five children: four of whom are living: Mrs. E.S. Cousins of Redland, Call; Mrs. M.S. Grim of Fredonia; Harry I Woods of Topeka, Kan.; F.M. Woods of Greenville. Their other son A.B. Woods of Cleveland died about 7 years ago. Joining the Presbyterian church in childhood, Mrs. Woods lived a consistent, Christian life, being active in her attendence to church within a week of her death. Her personality was beautiful one and "Grandmother Woods" as she was reverently calledwas loved by her neighbors as well as her relatives and friends. Always with a pleasant word for everyone, she had athe great good fortune to always see the bright side of life even to the time of her last illness she thought of the bright side of death and was ready to go. The funeral was held on Tuesday from the M.S Grim home, being conducted by Re. W.F. Shannon, assisted by Rev. Charles Campbell. Interment was made in Millbank cemetery. Those from a distance attending the funeral were: Mrs. Will Ferran, Mrs. Will Hockathorn of Oil City, Mrs Rufus Woods and son Dunn Woods of Transfer, Mrs. Delos McDowell, Mont McDowell of New Hamburg, Miss Della Greer of New Castle, Mr. and Mrs. Fred McDowell of Mercer, Prof. H. I. Woods of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. Mary Bean, Mrs Emeline Jewell, Mrs. Will Mowry, Abner Bean, Mrs Minnie Woods, Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Woods and W.E. Grim and family of Greenville
