      Orange, Dec. 20 - Fred Baker, 70, died suddenly Friday night at his home at 72 Adams street, the result of heart disease with which he had been afflicted for some time. He was able, however, to work regularly. He passed away suddenly in the arms of his daughter, Miss Ethel Baker. Mr. Baker was born in Saugus, the son of Henry and Lucy (Dizer) Baker, and grew up there. When a young man he went to Reading, and from there to Springfield, where he lived for 25 years. He was employed at the National Needle company during that period for a number of years served as superintendent. For approximately 25 years he was leader and instructor of the Father Mathew Temperance society drum corps of that city. On August 12, 1885 he was married to Mary E. Lynch, daughter of Jame and Honora Lynch of Springfield. He came to Orange 20 years ago and had since been an inspector in the New Home Needle factory. He leaves a widow; two daughters ,Miss Ethel Baker of Orange and Miss Pearl Baker of West Haven, Ct. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 at Witty's funeral home.
