      Eugene D. Baker worked for many years as a conductor on the Pere Marquette Railroad's Toledo Division (now the Saginaw Subdivision of CSX) that ran between Saginaw and Toledo, Ohio. As his train passed through Highland he would often wave to family and friends along the tracks.
