Charles D. Baker, a former resident of Cambria, in this county, died at Detroit, Mich., on the 29th ult., of consumption. He was in poor health for the past year and a half. Mr. Baker and his sister Carrie, who survives him, after the death of their parents, which occurred upwards of twenty years ago, were brought up by their uncle, Omar Baker, of Cambria, and received the same care and attention from his hands that he would have bestowed upon them had they been his own children. The deceased, who was in the 28th year of his age, was the son of Oscar Baker; he was educated at Deveaux College, Suspension Bridge; after graduating he followed teaching while his health permitted. For the past three years he has resided at Willsville, Mich., where he leaves a wife and one child. His many friends and acquaintances in this county will learn of his early demise with profound regret. His sister, Mrs. Maybon, resides in Canton, Mo.
