      David (David L., Isaac, James, Abraham, Isaac, John, John) was born in Exeter, Otsego, N.Y., Jan. 8, 1816. He married Althea Root, May 16, 1848. She was the daughter of Capt. Ruluff Root, of West Schuyler, N.Y. She was born Nov. 15, 1823. He died June 20, 1877. Mr. Perkins resided in Utica, N.Y., from 1824. He served as alderman of that city in 1852; he was also city clerk in 1857-8, and 1864, and for the last two years of his life he was secretary of the Utica Mechanics Association. A consistent Christian, who enjoyed the regard and esteem of all who knew him.
