      Walter R. Shanafelt, a miner, died Sunday at St. Bernardine's hospital. He was 45 years old, a native of Canton, Ohio, and had resided in California three months. Surviving are a son and his mother, Mrs. Sadie Breen, of Canton. The body will be shipped by the Mark B. Shaw Co. to Canton for funeral services and interment.
