Mr. William Pinchin, retired merchant of Chapelton, May Pen, and Kencot St. Andrew, was buried yesterday afternoon in the Chinese Cemetery following funeral services at the Holy Cross Church, Half Way Tree. Members of the diplomatic corps were among the relatives and friends attending the funeral. The Rev. Denis Cruchley, S.J., conducted the rites. Mr. Pinchin was a prominent member of the Chinese community and took part in many aspects of business and sports activities. He died in the University Hospital last week Monday after a short illness. He was 82. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Earlimph Pinchin, sons Joseph and Albert, and other relatives. Among the mourners were Chinese Charge d'Affaires, Mr. Pen Yu, and Mrs. Peng Yu; Sr. Santiago Angarita, Consul-General of Columbia, and Sra. Angarita; Sr. Alfredo Vargas, Charge d'Affaires of Venezuela, and Sra Vargas; Mrs and Mrs Sydney Hassan, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rhodes, Mr. Aston Colefield, Dr. Walter Chung, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brennan. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Chin, Mrs and Mrs. Allan Chin, Mr. Albert Chin, Mr. Chin Fatt, Mr. and Mrs. Fong Tom, Mr. William Winter, Mr. Donald Chin, Mr. and Mrs. Rose Sam Hugh, Mr. and Mrs. Carr, Miss Sun, Mr. Robert Chin, Mrs and Mrs. Charlie Henriques, Mr. Wilson Chung, Mr. Isaac Chin, Mr. Wilford Chin, Mr. Fred Hugh Sam, and Mr. Joseph Chin. Pall-bearers were Mr. Joseph Pinchin and Mr. Albert Pinchin, sons; Mr. William Winter, Mr. Sydney Hassan, Mr. Wilson Chin, Mr William Chong, Mr. Michael Chin and Mr. Allan Chin.
