He was a clerk in New Orleans at the outbreak of the rebellion He was drafted into the Confederate Army, was captured by Gen Butler in New Orleans He explained his position, organized a company and continued in the Union Army until the close of the war.

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont., Dec 7 - The funeral of Captain Harvey Cudaback will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.R. McClelland, Victoria street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. Interment will be at Wilson. Besides his daughter, he is survived by a half sister, Miss Mary Cadaback of Rochester; a niece, Mrs. Archibald Wilson of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and a nephew, William Art, of Wilson.
