NICHOLAS PALMER DEAD
Was Well Known Resident of the Town of Moreau
Nicholas Palmer, one of the oldest residents of the town of Moreau, died Tuesday morning at the old Palmer homestead, where he had always lived. He never married, but made his home with an aged maiden sister, Jane Palmer. A few days ago the sister was examined as to her competency in managing her affairs. The jury decided that she was entirely competent to look after her business, as well as that of her brother. Mr. Palmer was seventy-two years old. A short time ago he became ill of pneumonia. For a number of years he and his sister had had the idea that their farm property was ideally situated for a public park, although it was several miles below South Glens Falls and about fifteen miles north of this village. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
