Died at 3:35 o'clock Tuesday after. noon, William T. Wallace, aged 62 years. It was Thursday of last week that "Billy" Wallace, as he was familiarly known, was injured in an automobile accident. He was in a bugay with Thomas P. Moore, the two being bal. lifts for the grand jury, en route to the country to serve some papers. An automobile from Limestone county, driven by L. D. Barfield, struck the buggy and both men were thrown to the pavement. The injury to Mr. Wallace proved fatal. Willlam T. Wallace was born in Lawrence county, Alabama, February 23, 1852. In 1857 his father, J.D. Wallace, brought the family to Waco and the family residence has been maintained here ever since. J.D. Wallace was at one time country treasurer of McLennan county. The deceased was educated here and engaged In the feed, grain and grocery business, but retired from active business several years ago. For the last six months he had been living at Downsville and was appointed a grand Jury bailiff from that town. Mr. Wallace Is survived by two sons, Clare Wallace of Waco and Worden Wallace of Austin; a brother, C.T. Wallace, who is deputy county clerk, and a sister, Mrs. W.S. Lewis, both of Waco. His wife died three years ago. Funeral services were conducted at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home of the brother, C. T. Wallace, 1108 North Twelfth street, Rev J.J. Grier of the Second Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment was at Oakwood cemetery, The pall bearers were George P. Munnerlyn, H.A. Klein, S.S. Fleming, John W. Baker, R.V. McClain and J.H. Hutcherson. Mr. Wallace was a member of the Presbyterian church and had a large number of firm friends all over McLennan county. He was well know all over the country, the Wallace family being among the pioneers of McLennan county.
